Local Walks<\/h2>\n

Woodlands CL is right on the edge of the Mendip Hills and there is nearby access to Footpaths both up onto the Mendips and down onto the Somerset Levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Walk 1.\u00a0<\/span>The nearest path is just down the road from our site through the gates of Kesteven Farm going across open farmland to Wookey Village where the Ring 'O Bells pub and Burcott Inn can be found.<\/span><\/p>\n

Walk 2.\u00a0<\/span>Just down the road to Easton Village and then over the concrete style just after the Bus stop on the left. At the end of this path through a style\/gate across open fields to another gate where you turn right down a track and around the farm to the lane. Turning right back to Easton village and back up the hill to Woodlands CL<\/span><\/p>\n

Walk 3.<\/span>\u00a0Follow walk 1 to Wookey Village, then from the village along Knowle Lane to Knowle Bridge and Ford and back to Easton along quiet country lanes. Back up the hill to Woodlands CL.<\/span><\/p>\n

Walk 4.<\/span>For the very fit, there is a circular route from Easton Village, up Priddy Veal Lane, through Crowland Wood to Ebbor Wood and then down Deer Leap to Ebbor Cottages and back again to Easton Village.<\/span><\/p>\n

This route takes you past the entrance to Ebbor Gorge which is a National Nature Reserve through which the Mendip Way footpath runs. The Gorge itself offers 3 marked routes of varying difficulty. The Gorge can be reached on foot from our site but a five minute drive to the car park at the entrance is recommended as it is quite testing.<\/p>\n

A short walk that is ideal for a quick dog walk is down the road to the Church, turn right then lover the railway bridge and left into Priddy Veal Lane and accross the style int the field at the very start of the lane. This walk alongside the old railway line goes through open fields to Westbury Village.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nThere are many interesting and varied footpaths on the Mendip Hills within a 10-15 minute car ride and of course there are many miles of flat country lanes down on the Somerset levels which can be accessed just down the road at Easton Village.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
